Made for kids?

Today I had a new little boy in my class and with him he brought two Transformer toys. One of them was Optimus Prime and I wasn't familiar with the other. The other boys had a blast playing with these toys but it didn't take them long to figure out that they couldn't transform them back to what they wanted. So of course I hear a "Teacher...I mean, Miss Camille..." So I took on the challenge of trying to figure out how to the transform Optimus and man, took at least ten minutes. But I did figure it out! I was able to go from this-
To this-And good heavens, I don't know if these toys are really made for children...at least not five and six-year-old children. I got pretty good at figuring out how to transfer him because they were asking so much. Fun toy to transform though. The little boy who brought the toys said that he would bring the instructions next time. I thought it was a pretty good idea.

Last Friday Trav and I went to the SUU Gymnastics meet with a big group of friends, it was tons of fun.
Not only was it great to get out the house with Travis and hang out with him but it was so much fun to be there with friends too. Being in Pennsylvania made us miss being so close to friends and fun events like these.Plus, gymnastic meets are so much fun. If you've never been to a gymnastics meet we strongly recommend it. They're so much fun to watch and it's something different.Like this sweet shot I got? First shot too.

It starts at an early age

Remember when you waiting for class to start and a group of girls would come towards you and take the last couple of desks that were open right in front of you, therefore blocking the board and where the teacher would stand? They'd sit in front of you and all you could look at was their beautiful hair hanging down their back, their cute new back pack...and their butt crack cuz their pants were so low and their shirt was too short? Well my friends, I'd just like to say that it starts at an early age-
I don't think girls plan this type of behavior, I believe it's something that just happens and they a-don't notice or b-take it for what it's worth and give all of us a show. Anyway, this cute little girl in my class was showing major crack and I couldn't help but take her picture and laugh....then I pulled up her pants. :)

All in a days work

As most of you know I am working as a preschool teacher at a day care here in town. At first it was something that I really struggled with but as time continued on I have adapted and things have been going a little more smoothly. During the better part of the day I get to work with preschool-aged kids and they are a lot of fun. They are all so different in their own way and I adore them all for different reasons. This little one lifted up her shirt revealing her belly and said to me "Camille, look, I have a fat belly like a moster."

This little boy absolutely loves animals and dinosaurs and we were acting them out and the other had to guess which one we were...the dinosaur guessing got interesting considering I only know like 5 dinosaurs. This little girl loves to pretend and she has quite the imaginary. She always has the kids pretending to be different roles, it's a lot of fun to watch.Don't be fooled by these two-"reading". These two really know how to cause contention but for some reason when it's time to read and look at books they are quiet and very content. So this is what I do every day, eight hours a day. Some days are really great and full of laughter and fun...other days I wonder why I bother and why I put up with having such a high stress job. The grass is always greener on the other side, right?

Less words and more pics

Okay so apparently I wrote too much about that week of our Chrismas vacation because I really doubt anyone read the novel. So to finish up the remainder of the Christmas break I'll use key phrases and lots of pictures, because let's face it, anyone can look at a whole page of pictures. So here I go, the second week of the Christmas break we went to Eagle Mountain and spent the week with Travis' wonderful family. We stayed at Travis' brother's, Clint, house. Clint and his family are so gracious. Not only did we occupy their basement for a whole week but we also go visit them on weekends to eat their food and play with their kids! So thanks again Clint, Danielle', Avary, Atkin, and Baby Dimond! :) Travis's parents and sister and hubby, Trisha and Andrew flew in from Minnesota just to be with us so we had to take advantage of the opportunity to spend time with them.

Played lots of games, this one here is Bananagrams, I used all of the tiles all on my own (and yes, I cheated :) but only a little).

Did lots of puzzles (pretty sure Travis did this puzzle with Atkin 3/4 times in that one sitting-such a sport).

Played with Boggie
Played the Konga Drums (thank you again Ray for letting us borrow them), it's like guitar hero only instead of with a guitar it's with Konga Drums. Avary and Atkin had a ball playing with them.... Accept when they got bored.Jamie had a birthday
Trav and I had the golden opporutnity to go sledding with Clint and his family. It as so much fun to get outside and play with everyone. Not so much fun climbing up with hill...but so much fun going down with Avary and Atkin.
Trav and his family went to temple square-Atkin, Avary, Danielle', and Clint
Jamie with Travis' parentsAndrew and Trisha

We took a drive up to Alta through the canyon just because we knew it was going to be beautiful (and it was)

Andrew, Trav, and Dad
And we ate...a lot.I hope this post was a little more bareable for everyone and you could get to the end of it without feeling like you just read a text book for some boring teacher in your underwater basket weaving class!
Thanks again to Danielle' and Clint for letting us spend such a long time at your house, letting us eat all of your food, and sharing your kids with us! We love hanging out at your house.

Christmas Vacation-in Salt Lake

Travis and I were planning on heading up to Salt Lake on a Friday but there was a week when Cedar continually kept getting snow. We were nervous that there would never be a good time to head up there and we would had to just grin and bare and six hour drive up there. But then when we were out shoveling snow the day before our planned day to leave we noticed the sky started to turn blue and the sun was out. We checked out what the weather was like everywhere else and it was a beautiful day. So we quick packed everything up and headed up to Salt Lake a day early. As usual the drive was long-but it was a beautiful day, we had blue skies the whole way. The first week we were up in Salt Lake we stayed with my family at my parents house. We had such a good time keeping my sister company, who was very much under the weather, watching movies, playing video games, going to family parties, and doing other fun activities. Not to mention CHRISTMAS!!
It was a great Christmas for us. I wanted to get up at seven in the morning and run around like I was a crazy five-year old who just couldn't wait to open up her gifts but I didn't. I contained my excitement a couple hours longer and held out until everyone was ready. It was an exciting Christmas people. Travis had gotten my gift week and weeks ago and I had no idea. Last Christmas we picked out our own gifts for each other because we were completely clueless. I foolishly thought we were going to do the same thing until Travis had told me that he "actually already had my gift". I was shocked! Then he had to tell everyone what it was. There were some good reactions and so it was driving me crazy. Then a week before heading up to salt lake it was wrapped and next to the tree. I can't say under the tree cuz the box didn't fit (although keep in mind that our tree is only five feet tall). So anyway, I finally got to open my gift and it was a...CRICUT! For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a scrapbooking machine that is pretty much the coolest thing right now. Google it. I couldn't believe it, I was so surprised! Thank you Travis. I can't wait to start using it! My parents also went overboard and got me a sewing machine! Too cool. I'm very excited about getting to use that as well.

Travis is always hard for me to shop for and he's so picky but I found the perfect gift for him that I knew he wanted and just barely found something that fit what he wanted. I'm sure he was excited about getting it as well. Look how handsome-
My oldest sister, Rebecca, and brother-in-law, Forrest, got Rock Band for their Wii and let me just tell you how cool it is! We played and played and so much fun with it. This is everyone in their rock stance-everyone but Brandon, I'm so bummed that I didn't get a picture of him playing the guitar, he was awesome on it though-
Trav on the guitar
Rebecca on the guitar
Forrest played the drums, he was totally awesome. And guess what?
Even my Mom played! She was awesome too! I sang the whole time...it was so much fun though. I think I did pretty good, I probably sucked most the time but let me tell you, this game is so cool. Trav and I are looking forward to playing again.
So that was the first week, completely wonderful and so much fun. It's so great being back in Utah and being so close to our families again. We loved Pennsylvania but there's nothing quite like home. The second week of our vacation up in Salt Lake we drove down to Eagle Mountain and spent that week with Travis' family. His parents and older sister and husband flew in from Minnesota so we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to see everyone. I wanted to tell you about it but this post has taken me so long that I don't have time. Time to go make dinner. Until next time though-Forrest in this picture looks how I feel right now-
